Padel scoreboard

The scoreboard runs in your browser and needs JavaScript. With it off, the rules it plays by are written out in the scoring guide, and the Apple Watch app keeps score without a browser at all.

Set the rules, name the pairs, then tap the pair that won each rally. The board counts points, games and sets, moves the serve indicator, and starts a tiebreak at 6-6 on its own. Nothing is uploaded: the match lives in this browser and is saved there if you close the tab mid-set.

The rules your club plays

Golden point or advantage at 40-40, best of three or a single set, and a super tiebreak to 10 in place of a third set.

Undo any rally

A wrong tap steps back one point, across a finished game or set if it has to. The board keeps the whole match in an undo stack.

Keyboard scoring

A and B give the point to a pair, U undoes. Useful if you are running the board from a laptop on the bench.

Saved in this browser

The match in progress survives a reload, and finished matches go into a local history list. No account, no server.

What the browser cannot do

Heart rate, active calories and the Apple Health workout need the watch app. A browser has no access to those sensors.
History lives in this browser only, so it does not follow you to another device. The app syncs matches between the watch and the iPhone.
There is no watch face complication, no Smart Stack widget, and the screen has to stay awake for you to tap it.

If you want the score on your wrist while you play, that is what the app is for. It is the same scoring, minus the phone on the bench.

Questions about the web scoreboard

Is the web scoreboard the same as the app?

The scoring is identical: the browser runs a direct port of the app's engine, checked against the same test suite. What it cannot do is read your heart rate, write an Apple Health workout, or run on your wrist while you play.

Do I need an account to use it?

No. There is no sign-in and nothing is sent anywhere. The match and the history are stored in your browser with localStorage.

Does it work offline?

Once the page has loaded, scoring runs entirely in the browser, so losing the connection mid-match changes nothing. Reloading the page needs a connection unless your browser has it cached.

Will I lose the match if I close the tab?

No. The match in progress is written to browser storage after every point and is restored when you come back. Clearing site data does erase it.
